Cary Remains an Undiscovered Treasure
for Many Home Shoppers

Verseman Development's new deluxe model is now open
at Harvest Glen in Cary  (pictured).

What’s the secret to custom home builder Verseman Development’s success in Cary?  Maybe it’s the fact that Cary remains one of the best kept secrets in the northwest suburbs.

Ask Jeff Holz, and he'll tell you many of the shoppers who visit Lyons Ridge and Harvest Glen -Verseman’s two communities of completely custom residences in and near Cary, respectively-either had never heard of the village before or never thought to look in Cary. Yet, once they discover Harvest Glen and Lyons Ridge and all that they have to offer compared to other new custom home communities, they more often than not end up falling in love with the location and choosing a Verseman home.

“Once they find us, our homes and the village itself tend to make a very favorable impression,” said Holz, co-owner of Verseman Development. “The challenge is that not a lot of shoppers know we exist, which, in a way, is a benefit of being a resident here—Cary generally remains an undiscovered treasure that makes it all the more desirable to those who call it home.”

A big part of Harvest Glen’s charm, for example, is its largely undisturbed status, said Holz: the property includes more than 60 acres of preserved open space, as well as a riverfront recreation area and walking paths. Many sites also are attractively wooded and back up to the scenic Fox River or one of its plentiful ponds and recreation areas.

Nearby Lyons Ridge, meanwhile, boasts a handsome property with plenty of trees, scenic cul-de-sacs, a tot lot, and extensive neighborhood landscaping.

“We’re not trying to overdevelop these communities or infringe on the area’s built-in charm. At both Lyons Ridge and Harvest Glen, we have a set number of generously sized homesites designed to coexist peacefully with their natural, open surroundings,” said Holz. “With their tree-lined streets, numerous parks, easy access to local shops and stores and its uniquely handsome residential architecture, our neighborhoods perfectly cater to every type of buyer in the market for a custom home—from growing families to active adults.”

Holz added that Verseman homeowners appreciate Cary’s small-town allure and amenities, including Crystal Lake shopping and Algonquin Commons Mall nearby and conveniently accessible Metra train service that brings commuters downtown in less than an hour. Children attend Cary’s highly acclaimed schools—ranked near the tops in the state—including Cary-Grove High School and Cary Elementary School District 26.

Many buyers learn of Verseman’s communities via positive word-of-mouth referrals from friends and family, said Holz. Others often make a spur-of-the-moment visit after driving by and noticing the neighborhood’s signage.

“We don’t necessarily do a lot to promote the community, but we still get plenty of people who find us,” Holz said. “I credit that fact to the strong reputation Verseman Development has earned as a renowned custom home builder whose name is synonymous with quality and integrity.”

Verseman recently opened sales on its final phase of homesites at Harvest Glen. Many lots are amenable to walkout or English basements. Buyers can also select a homesite based on preferred orientation, such as an eastern exposure to face the rising morning sun. Home sizes for a Harvest Glen custom home built from scratch vary from 3,000 to 7,000 square feet, and prices start in the low $600,000s, Holz noted.

Home seekers yearning to move into a Verseman home early can choose a residence now under construction at 28620 W. Harvest Glen Circle. This two-story home offers four bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, family room, formal living and dining rooms, custom kitchen with granite countertops and adjacent breakfast area, dual staircase, full walkout basement with rough-in bath, three-car garage, landscape package, 3,900 square feet and more—priced at $889,900.

At Lyons Ridge, buyers can choose from 28 homesites, with prices starting in the upper $500,000s. Lyons Ridge homes include all the luxury appointments and extras Verseman Development is known for—such as spacious three-car garages, granite countertops, Jacuzzi whirlpool tubs, Pella windows, and generous landscape packages.

Sales for Harvest Glen and Lyons Ridge are being conducted at the sales center located in Harvest Glen’s model, located at the northeast corner of Three Oaks Road and Harvest Glen Road near Cary.
