Verseman Development Unveils New Custom Model at Lyons Ridge in Cary

Verseman Development Company has just unveiled a brand new custom model home (pictured) at Lyons Ridge in Cary.

An all-new, fully furnished and completely custom model home recently opened at Lyons Ridge, Verseman Development Company’s community of 28 one-of-a-kind homes on half acre lots in Cary.

Featuring an impressive array of upscale amenities, the new four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath model showcases more elaborate facets than perhaps any previous model Verseman Development has built, according to Jeff Holz, co-owner of Cary-based Verseman Development Company.

“Our new model is representative of the high caliber of craftsmanship and customization we incorporate into every home we build,” said Holz. “But what particularly distinguishes this model from any of its predecessors is the degree of ornate detail found throughout, which is evidenced especially in the interior millwork and trim. From the home’s custom-milled staircase and intricate crown molding to the generously apportioned 3½-inch casings and 5½-inch baseboards, this model is lavished with sophisticated features and finer points that many other builders wouldn’t spend the time or care to add.”

Examples of meticulous craftsmanship and high attention to detail include wainscoting in the foyer, staircase and dining room and beadboard wainscoting in the utility room, decorative architectural columns gracing the dining room entry, lustrous oak hardwood flooring across most of the first floor, and an attention-getting paver brick rear patio.

“We’ve added unique attributes and considerate touches to every room in the home, such as built-in cabinets in the master bathroom, a cathedral ceiling and floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace in the family room, and a wet bar and beverage center in the butler’s pantry,” Holz said.

Among the other plentiful highlights of note that will inspire home shoppers in the 3,426-square-foot model are an English basement; a kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a custom hood over the cooktop, and cherry cabinets topped with a spice finish, a tray ceiling in the master bedroom, a Jacuzzi Whirlpool tub in the master bath, front brick and Hardie Plank siding exterior, 30-year architectural shingles, Andersen windows, Schlage door hardware, and quality Kohler and Moen fixtures.

“Unlike many firms that claim to be ‘custom’ builders, we create 100 percent unique residences that always start from a blank sheet of paper,” added Holz. “To us, custom doesn’t mean offering standard home styles that can be ‘modified,’ or reproducing in any way a floorplan that has already been constructed. In our lexicon, custom means completely original.”

Holz said that Verseman Development works with each customer “and scrutinizes every detail so that they know what to expect at each stage of the process, including the design, construction, finishing and beyond. Ultimately, the residence we end up designing and building for them turns out to be exactly what they are looking for—a completely personalized home that reflects their tastes and lifestyle and that fits within their budget.”

A walk or drive through Lyons Ridge quickly reveals how exceptional the neighborhood is, Holz added.

“No two homes are alike, and every one stands as an imaginative, eye-catching expression of that owner’s personality and preferences,” he said. “The variety of distinctive exteriors and elevations as well as the lush landscaping, diverse topography and open spaces found throughout Lyons Ridge make it easy to fall in love with this location.”

Sales have reached nearly 30 percent at Lyons Ridge, where home-plus-lot packages start at $500,000. Seventeen homesites remain, on which a one-of-a-kind Verseman home can be built.

For buyers eager to move in without the wait, an inventory home is ready for immediate delivery at 17 Oakdale Ct. This custom home offers four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a full basement, nicely equipped kitchen with hickory cabinets and a honey finish, oak hardwood flooring, cathedral ceiling in the family room, approximately 3,000 square feet, a half-acre homesite and much more—priced at $569,900.

Holz also noted that buyers can now take advantage of a $25,000 promotional discount off the price of any design/build home in Lyons Ridge, provided they close and take delivery in 2008.

Lyons Ridge’s new model is located in Cary at 925 Lyons Ridge Dr., where sales are also being conducted. Take Route 14 (Northwest Highway) to Three Oaks Road, head east 2.5 miles to Lyons Ridge Drive and follow the signs. The model is open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Verseman Development also has three one-acre homesites remaining at Harvest Glen in Cary, on which a completely custom home can be built.
